Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a significant and continuing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any damage is unclear and the United States has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted locations associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.
Wider Impacts
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.
It said missile fragments landed in a residential area in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
