A Pair of Detentions Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
